PR is valid for 5 yrs and you have to renew it till you become Citizen.Once you become citizen you will have to surrender the PR to the CIC and if I am not wrong on the day of taking Oath....Good luck

My pr expire in march-2023 while I apply my pr renewal 2nd week of Feb-2023 but still awaiting pr card renew . I reside in ontarion . Anybody kindly guide as i see 90 days normally required for pr renewal. But my case 120 days passed

You can return to Canada without a valid PR Card, but not if your are returning via a commercial carrier (unless you hold a U.S Passport). Entering at a land PoE in a personal vehicle is an option, so long as you can enter the U.S., obviously. Your expired PR card can be used with CBSA but you would likely be sent to Secondary to explain why you have not renewed your card, while the officer may or may not dig into whether or not you have met the Residency Obligation.
