Hi Seniors,

I am applying for Spousal Visa for my wife. The Generic Application Form for Canada #IMM0008 seek the following:

1)EDUCATION DETAILS column seeks information on her highest qualification. She has done Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management.
Does she need to have accreditation from WES regarding the or not?

2)LANGUAGE DETAIL column seeks information on her proficiency in English.
Does she need to have appeared for IELTS ?

No. This is a generic form which used in different types of applications. Just provide info for highest education and No for Ielts question.

Ok......thats heartening.

But as you mentioned that its a general form so it might pertain to many kinds of scenarios .

Is there any place or link where it can confirm the case for my kind of situation i.e. spousal visa.

First there is NO spousal visa.

You need to be clear of what type of application are you filling the form for. As said, it's used for many different applications.
If you are a PR or Canadian Citizen, and you are sponsoring your spouse to become PR, the information regardling to education and language isn't very important. It needs to be accurate but they are not evaluating your sponsorship application according to her education level and language skill level.
So no IELTS is needed.

If you're applying for Family Sponsorship, which I'm assuming you are from posting in this bit of the forum, there are no language qualifications or tests needed. The only thing is that your documentation has to be in English or French.

Hi YVR123,

Yes ,I am PR in Canada and am originally from India. I got married recently and my wife is in India. I am filling PR sponsorship for her.My question regarding IELTS and WES is in this regard.

Its heartening to know that she does not have to take IELTS nor get WES accreditation done
