I had a question if someone can shed some light on it. I was wondering if London Visa Office sends your AOR once your file has been transferred there from CPC.

Also does anyone know if your file gets transferred the next day to London Visa Office after you receive your SA or does CPC send files after a few weeks.

No, London doesn't send AOR.

It usually takes a few weeks for your app to actually arrive in London.

Thanks for letting me know.

Then is there anyway to find out when was the file transferred at all.

Also if London Visa Office doesn't issue AOR then how does your spouse who is being sponsored get there UCI Number so they can check there status on Ecas.

the applicant most likely won't get their UCI number until the visa office contacts them for more information, their passport request or in some cases, not until approval.

the applicant will be able to check their status in ECAS with either the sponsor's info or the file number provided in the sponsor eligibility letter. The sponsor's ECAS is linked to the applicants, and the file number is shared between the 2. The applicant will most likely need to use the sponsor's personal info to sign in. They *may* be able to sign in with their own info and file number. Generally, ECAS doesn't work immediately after sponsor eligibility has been given. it can take a couple of days to a couple of weeks. There really is no way to "confirm" the visa office received the application. it's just assumed it got there.

Thank you so much Rhcohen. I have one more thing to ask you if you could answer that I will really appreciate it.

So it's safe to assume that we won't hear anything from London Visa Office for 11 months as that's what their processing time says.

Second what's your advise on this that is it a good thing to email London Visa Office a case specific inquiry in about 6 or 7 months just to check if they have received the file or just wait till they email for more information.

for a more acurate, real time account of london office processing, you will want to join the london applicant thread. they have a spreadsheet that tracks the progress of applications and provides their own stats. the times posted online are misleading and do not represent what straightforward applications face today.

as for emailing the visa office. unless you are past the posted processing time on the cic site, they will not respond to you. unless there is something specific to inquire about (name change in passport, address change, medical expiration, etc), most likely you will not get a response to an inquiry on your file. most visa officers do not acknowledge emails sent or respond to requests checking in on files.

London averages around 8 months. Send a CSE whenever you want. Though the website says that they won't respond if you're still within the processing times, London always responded anyways. I sent several CSEs well before the processing time and always received a response, sometimes within days, sometimes within a week or 2.

Also, keep in mind that not all apps are being sent to London. Many are being kept in Mississauga or sent to Ottawa. Your sponsor approval email will say where it's going.
