LMIA is needed to get 600 points in your case.

if you want to get 600 points you MUST go through this process
which is really ridiculous of course

the employer post job posting
REJECTS everyone
and then apply for LMIA

IT REALLY RIDICULOUS FOR PEOPLE ALREADY WORKING WITH OPEN WORK PERMIT AND THEN ASKING THEM TO DO THAT

Good luck, im in the same boat, trying to get my HR to get me an LMIA, or consider PNP but since PNP isn't open in Ontario for EE yet, LMIA is currently the only option.

BUT How do you convince CIC that no other Canadian has applied for my job, and why not hire Canadians to do my job? why me? How do we explain that to CIC ? LOL

if only i have a $35/hr job. Oh yes another reason why I probably won't get an LMIA is because I don't think my company wants to give me that big of a raise... or match the median salary for my position.

I have a question too. Hopefully someone can help. I've worked for this company for 18 months (Calgary Alberta) Full time, 40hrs a week as a Facility Coordinator. I have a work permit that expires next year. It's for a big company and I have requested for an LMIA and the response in summary "is how do we prove that in my position" I confused as to what my next steps should be in regards to trying to convince the employer to do an LMIA for me.....I mean if I was not qualified I wouldn't have been hired in the first place right? Please advise. Thank you

Hi Mate,

I am also in same situation, not finding the way from where I can get the LIMA document/approval etc.. Me too on the same Intra-company transfer program in Canada. I am not sure who will provide us the LIMA document etc.

Please guide step by step with full details..

Thanks

The question is if you have started working, then

Option 1 : resign , apply new work permit with LMIA ? if so , the previous work experience will be counted or not .

Option 2: don't resign , apply another work permit with LMIA at the same time,

Option 3: resign , cancel original work permit, go back home country , apply new work permit .

It is really ridiculous.

Your company can still apply for PNP. Once granted you apply very much like the old CEC way, lots of paperwork and the time is about 17 months. If you are granted a nomination you can easily get an extension to your work permit to cover the processing time. Its only PNP for EE that is not up and running.
