DOES JOB TITLE MATTERS

I am applying for NOC 2133 Electrical and Electronic Engineer but my current job designation is Sr. Manager Electrical. The title is not listed on example titles of occupation on HRDC link. Should the title be one on hrdc website.

Job description matters more than the title. But if you work as a manager, then check out NOC 0211 (engineering managers).

job title does not matter. But job description matters a lot.

One doubt as I have to same case:

Can I apply on 2171(Information systems analysts and consultants), but I designated as "Senior Manager" and not "* Consultant"? And my work also involve Software development life cycle as well. As I handler and manage 3 projects all together.

How do CIC check if this person actually perform this task or not and on what basis they may say you applied on wrong code?

Please suggest !!!

it's only matter the duties .

so enhance the description of the related JDs that covers the consultant duties .

review everything and make sure to cover most of the JD of your NOC.

It should not matter as long as 70% + of the JD in reference letter matches the lead statement...they can call up your supervisor/ interview you if they have any doubt....you can include something on the covering letter as wel explaining the designation/role....

business analysts also have managers to whome we report to..atleast in my case...I have reported to requirements manager/senior system analyst..

The list looks ok..but please cross check with the checklist which you obviously need to send along...check if you have signed on all the required places ...check the fees payment form...if it is credit card the signature/pan number/ ccc number..

I applied having the reference letter's job tittle different than the one on my app.
Called CIC and the agent told me it matters.
Called the next week, another agent told me it doesn't matter.
Ppl on the form told me the app will get rejected.
Only GOD knows if i will pass or not

In my opinion it does matter to an extent such as, you cannot hold a title of Electrical Engineer but somehow have job duties of an IT consultant. This may definitely raise eye brows.

In my case, I am holding a title of systems analyst and claiming 1.8 years of experience. Similarly, my rest of the 8+ years of experience does not hold a title of systems analyst rather they were of managerial position; however the job duties were of systems analyst. And CIC never seemed to have a problem with this and they afforded me with 15 points in work experience.

my job title was assistant manager(all people on that career level in our organization have this title regardless of their JD). My JDs match with NOC 2132 mechanical engineers. I suppose this should not be a problem.

Yes it should be ok.. And if you have your past experience in same field with relevant job title than I believe, your case will be stronger..
