Does it Necessary to have spouse name in passport for Canadian Visa in spousal

Hi there,

I have this question about spouse name in passport? does it necessary to have spouse name in passport to get Visa from Canadian immigration at Delhi?

I got married to Canadian citizen girl on Nov-2011. my Medical was on Dec-2011. after that to arrange the documents it took us near about one month. my wife lodge the file at Canada on Feb-2012. everything was going good.
Now somebody told us that spouse name is necessary on passport otherwise CiC will not grant the visa. as my application is showing in processing on their site. on my passport i haven't my spouse name in passport. Does it must to have spouse name on passport or they will not grant Visa.

Please correct me if anyone know any information about this. little help will appreciated. Thanks

oh no its not necessary to have spouse's name on passport. i dont have my wife's name and got visa already. if your application is in process, you will get your visa soon. dont worry and start packing.

Could you please tell me that after showing "in process" after how many days or weeks you got your Visa? please share if you can thanks again...

i think my case was different than most of the members, i mean it was different than our expectations and predictions. ??? ???
*sent application on jan 23, 2012 and received by CIC on jan 26, 2012. (but on ecas and other letters, they said "cic received your application on jan 20, 2012 )
*got approval after 96 days- may 1, 2012
*got ppr after 9 days-may 10, 2012
*we got interview call after 1 month of PPR,- june 15, 2012
*got approved in the interview- july 31, 2012
*ecas changed to in process after 4 days- august 4, 2012
*changed to DM after 2 days- august 6, 2012
*received passport after 7 days- august 13, 2012
but my visa was stamped on august 3, 2012, they dont update ECAS immediately
