why do you want to use this term rather than just "Unemployed"?

isn't required to mention reason of unemployement?

stated in section 6.F (you must indicate the reason for being unemployed and confirm the dates)

Being dismissed is not a reason for being unemployed... a reason for unemployment would be something like the following:

1. Disability
2. Work permit restrictions
3. Personal responsibilities (such as a sick or disabled family member that you need to care for)
4. Saturated job market

Dismissal is not a reason for anything... Dismiss is a verb and therefore cannot be a "reason"

Were you actively seeking employment during your unemployment?
If not, why not? If you couldn't take up employment because of a job/location specific work permit, that would be the reason for being unemployed.

You are trying to give a reason why you were terminated. That is not what they are asking, they are asking why you are unemployed.

This is a simple question, don't make a big deal out of it.

Ask yourself the following questions...

1. Did you look for alternative employment?
2. Could you legally work without sponsorship?
3. Are you healthy enough to work?

Don't delve into a lengthy explanation why your were dismissed, CIC is not interested in that.

I cannot suggest a reason since I don't know anything about you...

I think, you do not need to write the reason, why you are fired ? just write you were employed during such and such period like from sep.2010 to dec.2010 . and then unemployment period jan 2011 to dec.2011 there u need to write the reason like saturated market etc.

if u still want to write the reason for termination just write what the employer told u, skills not suited for the job.

In my opinion, The reason to quit the job, or the reason you are terminated for should not affect your eligibility to get citizenship.
