You also dont know anything about their life either. Whatever it is... rich dude buying his way to citizenship or not ... overall it is a privilege to live and work in canada. Period

I wasn't planning to share in this conversation as it's not what the post is about. But I thought I would add my two cents to this.
Your judgement really doesn't take into consideration the personal lives of people. In my case: I landed in Canada as a family, planning to live all my life there were the children. Status changed, now a single mother, supporting two children. This was not the plan. Add Covid19 changes to that and I end up in a in an intolerable situation. My plan is to go back for two years, sort out the financials and return. I will never want my children to miss the good life in Canada and the education there. I lived 4 years in Canada and planning to continue to live there. They apparently changed the law to take into consideration situations like mine. If I say that to an officer he might think I'm lying to get the citizenship. Here I don't have to lie. And under the current law I feel it's fair.
