Hello, I just have a question about the GCMS note. If I order the GCMS note, by the time I received it (usually one month from the date it is ordering online), is the GCMS note showing the information by the date of ordering, or the date of it is sent out.

Suppose that it is ordered on August 1st and it is received on September 1st, is the GCMS note showing the information on August 1st or September 1st ?

And also is it sent out by email or mail?

Thanks

Hello sir, thank you for your reply. But can I ask if it is printed out one week after ordering, how come it takes one month or more to send it?

And just want to make sure that it is sent by postal mail, right?

Actually I have the same question. Because the GCMS note takes such a long time to send out. If I order it, is the notes showing the information up to the ordering date, or the sending date?

There is no right answer to this question, the notes can be printed at any time by the agent who receives the request. A week after request, 2 weeks after request, or a week before the deadline.

Regarding, why it takes a month, I would guess because it goes through certain internal channels before it is approved, printed and sent forward.

Regarding the delivery medium, if you have selected delivery by e-mail it will be e-mailed to you; if you opted delivery by mail, then it will be sent by Canada Post.

The notes are current up to the date on which it was generated/printed.

They have to filter out all the text that you're not supposed to see (remember blank pages and blank lines in your GCMS notes?). So I guess notes are reviewed by an agent before sending them out.

Hello, sir. Thank you very much for your information. Can I ask if you are sure that the GCMS note can be sent by email? Because I will move and change my address in about one month. I want to order the GCMS note very soon, but I am still looking for a new apartment and can't provide the new address right now.

So have you ordered it before and the GCMS can be delivered by email no problem? Will the IRCC send any document to mailing address because I am concerned that I may lost any documents because of moving.

Thanks a lot.

When you go the site to order your notes and select online option for delivery of the notes...it will give you two options-1.via email 2. via cd
select email and it will get emailed to you...no concerns regarding change of address, etc if it gets delivered to you via email

and yes,no problem....
it will get delivered by email ONLY

hope this helps!

Hello, sir. I have got to submitted the GCMS order request yesterday. But all I got is just an email with a "tracking number". Can I ask is the email usually what I should expect after submitting the order online? Maybe should I contact CIC via email or phone and see if the order request is received or there is any problem? Because the GCMS note will only be sent about a month from now (the turnaround time is kind of long), so I just want to make sure there is nothing wrong with the ordering request.

Thank you very much.

the tracking number is just to track your request incase you have crossed the turnaround time for 30 days. I don't believe CIC will respond to your request before the 30 days are up. I know 30 days are a long time...but it is worth the wait...you will find more answers on your notes than on myCIC or calling up the helpline...
im pretty sure you must have got an email of the order confirmation in your personal email(the email you have mentioned)...if you have, there is nothing wrong...you are fine..

Hello, sir. Thank you very much. Today I was told that in the document uploading section, I should upload the passport bio page so that the CIC agent can confirm that I am ordering on my behalf under "privacy act". I have been searching online about this today all day, but still didn't get any information related to that. Can I consult you again if it is really the case that the applicant should upload the passport bio page or other type of indemnification document?

This never came cross my mind when I was researching GCMS, and I didn't
upload any document in that uploading section. So I am very worried wherher I have slipped and messed up in here. If the document is really needed, maybe Is there any way to make up for this blunder?

Thank you very much for your help.
