Hi,

I am applying under FSWP and my common law partner will come with me as my dependant (cross fingers everything goes well)

How does it work fro my partner:

*will he receive PR as well?

*will he need a work permit?

*if so, will he need to renew his work permit until we apply for citizenship?

Many thanks in advance

If you have a CLP you are required to include him on your application. You would be the "principal applicant" and he would be a co-applicant (or "dependent" on the principal applicant's application). So if you receive PR, so will he.

Permanent residents do not require work permits. If he wants to come and work in Canada before becoming a PR, then yes, he would need a work permit.
