Lets hope for the best...
By end of June it will be the first half of the year, I believe they might not have the draws until they get some equations to publish for the reporting. They have to publish the report and status of the current system. Until they do it they get and set the process right they might not be doing a draw.

Looking at the patterns under EE, the ECAS application status and MYCIC status were not consistent to those who already applied. There were so many techinical issues like the documents not getting uploaded even when do so, payment error which makes your profile in erroneous state etc. So, I believe they did a trial on the first 3 months on how to better implement this in real-time. Now, once they get everything set up in line they will issue hundreds of ITAs. Let's hope and be optimistic.

I am engineer but respect all NOC's and Jobs . So everyone here tried his best in his NOC to get permanent residency and dont try to be oversmart by reading fewer more books then others .. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) and saying that Hey !!! I am an engineer give me PR not dat COOK . We all are same ..
Ive never underestimate anyone. My wife is a cook and I am an engineer. What I just tried to say is that you can't put on the same pool these 2 professions. It is dumb as you'll end up with a bunch of high profile/degree guys doing the same thing. It would be much cleaver if you rank by same field or NOC code.

its probably nothing to do with the EE system.. its more to do with the communication of draws. I hope there are instructions before the draw informing the date and after the draw to inform the CRS. May be there are some backlogs in process which they are waiting to clear.. be optimistic folks.. we will make it soon :)

You can't select "the most appropriate" people if you put an engineer and a cook in the same rank list...
The truth is that a cook will find a job 100 times faster than an engineer. Actually plenty of engineers are right now being laid off due to gas prices and projects being on hold since the beginning of the year. Cooks are still high demand. It's been tougher last few months in Alberta, but honestly, cook will always find a job in Canada, in big cities, just walk around the downtown. Engineer with no canadian experience might take months. Many of my friends with great education and experience almost went back to their countries because they were used to a good income and in Canada, they had to fight hard to get the same job as they were newcomers.

On the other hand, it is fair to deal with people, who are inside Canada already, working on work permits their employers paid a lot of money for and waited for months. it would not make much sense to let these people's PNPs and LMIAs expire and have them leave the country if those are the ones who already did blended in and there is a high possibility they will just keep working after getting PR because they are already set in here. What's the point in letting go home a cook, who worked hard for 2 years and bring an engineer with a degree, who will not do his job? The cook's employer will have only one option - apply for another LMIA and bring another cook to work for him.

I think we should just ask people what they want these days. That's how we should select immigrants now!!

We ask them what status they want (PR or whatever) and then we give it to them, along with a complimentary order of french fries and a drink of their choice.

It's the only way to stop everyone's complaining. Otherwise, there's always someone who's not going to be happy.

So, .... what kind of drink do you want with your french fries and PR status?

Don't be so tough - everyone here is putting all their hopes into the nomination and successful process and it is normal that in a situation like this you wan to look for someone to blame - and that's CIC of course, because the system could be more fair, faster and many other things. It is exhausting process and some people are struggling for years for the possibility of better future in here. It is their choice, yes - but it is a big dream and it is hard to give up on it. I've been lucky enough to have Canadians around me giving me high five for applying and being happy for me. Most of them also realize that we go through what their parents or grandparents experienced as well.

Hello everybody. I have a little question and could anybody please answer?

How many draws will there be in 1 year? Will the minimum passing score be reset at the end of every year?

Thank you very much, in advance.

CIC didn't announce number of draws for this year, but i'm gonna guess that this will be rather slow start for EE as there is a huge backlog of many other applicants from previous year. The minimum passing score depends only on CIC, they decide how many people will get nomination from each draw and then they go from the top ranking candidates. So you are basically competing will everyone else in the pool. We have seen the # of points going down dramatically once the LMO/PNP candidates were invited already, last draw showed CIC was waiting for more of them to enter the pool. But once these people are all "sorted out", the points might go down again, giving a chance to candidates with outstanding education and experience, language knowledge etc. But probably, there is some kind of a border set from CIC under which the draws will not go - only time will tell. EE is too new to conclude how it will look like next year this time.
