Hi Fellow travelers,
I needed help with a query?

There was a 75 days gap between AoR and Medical passed, because we had an XRay deferral. Does CIC start eligibility check right after AoR or do they wait till medical pass before they start looking at eligibility.

My AoR was May 31, Med Passed was Aug 14th. My eligibility still hasn't passed when I called call center last week. So I am wondering should I be in 4.5 months since AoR mindset or 2 months since AoR mindset :)

I am FSW-O, US Residence, Indian Citizen.

Thanks!

Don't trust IRCC agents on call. Order GCMS notes to know true status.

Thanks. I just ordered GCMS notes last week. Agent said that even my R10 completeness is not done. Which seems a bit odd.

Going back to my original question: Does eligibility wait for MEP or does it start right after AoR.

Your background has no bearing on processing of your application. Your background gets you CRS score after that it doesn't matter whether you worked in fortune 20 or were self employed.

To the other question .. Eligibility starts after R10 check. R10 check happens upto a month after AOR. Given that your Medical was delayed it is possible R10 check was delayed. If it was delayed it is possible that your eligibility was not done yet because your application got pushed to bottom of the pile. BUT all these are speculations. So wait till GCMS notes to learn more.

Also, if you get your GCMS notes and you don't see movement on eligibility wait for 15 days and order another set.

Thanks for the response.

In the case of pregnancy deferral, CIC schedule next steps to after the child birth, when they request baby medicals, passport etc and starting the processing. Our baby is due in Dec but we did XRay in August. It's possible that CIC has scheduled the next step for my application to December. We will find out more from the notes.

I will probably send a CSE as soon as I receive the GCMS notes, ask them to start processing, if that is what is holding them up. Is there anything else that I can do.

See whatever you are saying are all possible scenarios but without official notes we both will be speculating. So let the notes arrive. Also, raising CSE won't help much. But, there is no harm in doing so.

Congrats on the baby!

Thanks. I will reach out as soon as I get the notes. Hoping for some good news :)

I can say that they will STALL your case until your medical pass. I learned it the hard way, basically I've wasted 2.5 months for nothing. Now I have no idea to ask them to start looking at my case again, SMH :(

Sorry to hear that. Hope they process your file soon!

I am in the same boat. Can you please share which part of GCMS note let you know that they had stalled your case?
