Hi,

We were deported from Canada in 2004 but we left voluntarily. Will this show up as a criminal record on my police check?

Thank you!

Hey , that's not a criminal record and will not show in your police check , however you have to declare that in your immigration application , that too won't affect the outcome of your application

It sure will effect the PR application. The OP is approved would require an ARC and if CIC/CBSA paid for their removal, they will have to pay those funds back

I need it for USA immigration not Canada. Do you guys know if RCMP fingerprint check show it? My dad was arrested because they thought he wouldn't leave. We took him out on a bond and left voluntarily. Such bad memories, now still haunting us..

US immigration doesn't require you to disclose all this?

It will now kill his chances of getting approved , however he must pay back any removal expenses as well as an ARC fee .

If you left voluntarily it was a removal order with maybe exclusion. Not deportation unless you did not leave in the time given to do so. My husband also was detained and released on bond. Left with exclusion order voluntarily. His RCMP check showed none of this activity. It is only a criminal offence to return to Canada without authorization. If you were a minor during all of this I don't think it will have consequences for you. Best to always disclose history. Failing to has worse consequences if they find out.
