Hi!

I am very scared about a situation I am facing, and it's starting to affect my mental health.

Long story short, I moved to Canada a round a year ago with Student and Work Visa, lucky me, I had my very first episode of kidney stones in Canada so had to go to the hospital, twice... I didn't have an insurance and I received my health card (I forgot the name, ICBC?) 2 or 3 days after going to the hospital. Thing is, I had to pay the hospital bill...

Unfortunately, I had to leave Canada (I am still completely devastated that I had to leave because I fell in love with Vancouver) for health reasons, I was getting a lot of kidney stones, kidney infections etc so my parents advised me to move back to Spain (currently living in the UK rn). I was in college in Vancouver, still paying my tuition and was kinda broke, couldn't pay 2000 dollars hospital bill.

My intention was always to move back to Canada after getting my health a bit better, it was the first time, was alone in a new country so I basically chickened out, but always wanted to comeback. A few months after I left Canada I started receiving emails for a collectors agency sent by Vancouver Coastal Health, basically asking for the money. So a debt and credit score completely ruined.

I want to move back to Canada, I want to apply again for my Student and Work Visa like before. Now my concern is... Can they reject my Visa to go to Canada because of my debt with the hospital?

I am having anxiety attacks, can't sleep at night worried that my dream to move back to Canada gets destroyed by the hospital bill :(

Can someone please advise me, help me, ease my pain? (yes, it is really affecting me since I'm terrified by the idea of my Visa application getting rejected because of the debt)
Will they let me in in the country again?

Thank you very much!

Pay off what you owe because yes, it can impact approval. Given you never completed studies and collectors going after you, you have a higher chance of refusal
