Does CPC-Mississauga look at the relationship proofs at all?

Hi everyone...

I'm a Canadian citizen who's about to submit a sponsorship application for my wife, an Indonesian citizen. We're doing it outland through the Singapore visa office.

One of the sponsor forms, IMM 5540:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5540E.pdf

says the following at the bottom of page 4 "On a separate sheet of paper, provide any additional details of your current relationship that you believe would help to prove your relationship is genuine and continuing."

We do in fact have proofs.....tons of it actually...so far we have collected about 3.3 kg (7.3 pounds) worth of proofs, and in IMM 5540, I would love to write "please refer to the relationship proof bundle that I am enclosing".

But wait a minute, here's my concern...if in IMM 5540 I told CPC-Mississauga to refer to the (huge) relationship proofs bundle, would they actually be willing to open it? Because the relationship proofs bundle is only intended for the Singapore visa office, no...?

We have worked really hard to prepare all the proofs, and we would hate to have to provide identical proofs; one for CPC-M and one for the Singapore visa office...! That would double our workload...(and not to mention, be a waste of papers...)

No - you don't need to double the proofs. You need to submit everything together - both the sponsor + applicant forms + proofs etc.
Mississauga mostly checks the background of the sponsor, and evaluate if there is a reason why the sponsor could not qualify to sponsor his spouse ( relation not declared previously when landing as a PR if the person is a PR etc, or not 12 months of common-law). They might have a look at the relationship part, to see if it's not an "obvious fake", but it's mostly the VO's job.
SO you don't need to worry - include everything, but not double, and you can refer to the proofs that you are including, and they can choose to check, or not, and wait for the VO to do it.
Good luck,
Sweden

Ecas

I hope someone can advise. I posted this somewhere before but hadn't got a response. Having got AOR and UCI # we tried to access ECAS and after putting in bio info the next page said:

If you want to see the details of an application, click on the underlined status.

Please remove the ability for me or anyone else to view the status of my application and address information on this Web site.
Note: Once you withdraw your consent, your application status and address information will no longer be available on the Internet. Learn about other ways of receiving information about the processing and status of your application and updating your address information by contacting us.

We don't want to remove the ability to view so we bypassed that and just clicked on submit but it took us back to the above page. Just wondered if anyone else had that experience and if so, what are we to do or why that is so?

Hi There...CharlieD10 answered this question for you...you might have missed it

This is what she said

Everyone gets that. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T CLICK THE BOX. If you click the box, neither you nor anyone else will be able to view your eCAS.

Tack så mycket Sweden!

So, for the question "On a separate sheet of paper, provide any additional details of your current relationship that you believe would help to prove your relationship is genuine and continuing."

what's the best way to answer it without sounding too dismissive then? I mean, if I tell them "please refer to the relationship proofs bundle", wouldn't they think I'm too lazy to write details? :p

Just wondering what your sponsor wrote to answer that question?

I can't remember what my sponsor wrote. I don't think he added any proofs to that form. he worked on his forms ( that were quite easy), I worked on mine, and then we put together the "proofs" package, and put everything together in an envelop - and it seemed to work that way. I think it's mostly intended to put more information if there is something not straightforward in the answers to this form ( for example, if you live with your sponsor, and with other people as well in a shared house, you have space to explain that. Or if you have children that are only the sponsors children but not the applicant, etc... ).

Good luck,
Sweden

You could list the proof and says, "please refer to the actual documentation in the evidence package". I would also suggest to remove some redundant evidence to weigh less :D (unless your relationship can be viewed very fishy :-X). Go for quality than quantity. For instance, I only had 6 (or maybe 8) photos printed on one sheet. All in all, including forms, it was less than 100 pages.
