Your work permit becomes invalid when you get signed COPR. WP is valid before that time .

What do you mean my signed CoPR? The email I received asked me to confirm my CoPR. Can I wait till I return to Canada before I confirm it? Thank you for your response
Signed COPR is when you declare you are in Canada and you upload your Canadian address and upload photo for pr card, then CIC send you COPR in your account and your status gets changed.
Thank you so much for your response. Is it advisable that I return to Canada before responding to confirm my CoPR? Or is there a specific time frame to it? I received the email on the 2nd of November and I'm returning to Canada on the 10th of November. Is there any harm in this? Thank you
I think there is no harm . Just make sure you reply from within Canada as you can’t declare in portal account if you are outside . Submit your address and photo . Just question you got email for Creating the account right? Like last entry, email address?
Yes, I got an email to create my PR card requesting my UCI, photo, last entry, email etc. Thank you for your response
you shoukd reply when you are in canada. for now your work permit should be valid since you haven’t replied and haven’t gotten the copr

Note, I got this email when I sent returned to Canada and sent the requested information to CIC
If you got email and they are asking about your last entry to Canada, your email address and your address, they will create account for you. You can’t create yourself. When they create account they give you temporary password through which you can login to portal. You have to change your password once you login and then you have to declare you are in Canada and you address for PR and upload picture. You can’t declare if you are outside Canada.

That’s good. For account information it all depends on your office handling your file and doing virtual landing. It can takes from 2 days to 2 months. In meantime keep your status maintained. You officially become PR when you get a Signed COPR in your account.

Thank you so much. I'm so grateful for awesome people in this amazingly informative group! I got my PR through H&C even though I came in as a student and got 3 years work permit. My husband 5 years ban due to undeclared US visa refusal put me into immigration issues. Glad the ordeal is coming to an end! My application was submitted in October 2021.
