Does CIC accept Proof of funds on Spouse name?

Hello group,

I know this could be a repetitive question in this forum, but, I am desperately looking forward for this piece of information. Request you to provide your valuable suggestions.

I received SINP nomination and will get my ITA this week. All my proof of funds are in the name of my spouse (Term deposits since last six months). I am the primary applicant and she is my accompanying partner. Can I show these proof of funds (with her name on it) to CIC in my eAPR (visa) application?

FYI, I have shown the same proof of funds to SINP and got the nomination. But, I heard that CIC accepts the POF only in the name of primary applicant.

If it has to be in the name of primary applicant, can I liquidate the term deposits, credit them into our joint savings account and show them as a POF? But, in this case, the funds will not be six months old. May be I need to get an "No objection" affidavit from my wife to use these funds by me (primary applicant)?

Please suggest me solutions to this query. Thanks in advance.

If you are the main applicant, then kindly get these funds transferred in the joint bank account with your spouse.
You need to get the NOC from your spouse to use these funds for immigration.
Also, you can use the bank statements of her account which demonstrates the source of these funds in your joint bank account.

Oh this question of Ramesh makes me worry too.

I am maintaining POF funds both in my account and wife's. We do not have joint accounts.

I was assuming that since she is also a part of the application, it is not required to transfer all funds into my account.

Please enlighten.

All you need to do is add a NOC letter signed by your wife stating that her funds can be used for immigration. In your case, atleast you have one bank account in your name.
The above applicant has not shown any account carrying his name, hence he needs to show atleast one account with his name included.

I am a SINP nominee, received PPR recently. I think i can help.

In my case the account i used for POF was under my wife's name only and i was listed as beneficiary.
The bank statements i presented only stated my wife's name but in the Bank letter there was both of our names because i was listed as a beneficiary.

It worked perfectly as i received my PPR recently.

In the application guide of SINP it clearly states that the POF can be in you spouse's name so i do not think SINP is going to have a criteria for nominating candidates that later on could be rejected by CIC. It just does not makes any sense.

Good luck.

Thanks sushsmart15. As a primary applicant, my accounts holds about 50% and hers 30% and remaining about 20% in PF statements.

Meanwhile I wanted to plan POF documents. I got about 17% of POF funds in the form of PF statements (both of my wife and mine)

Although I am the primary applicant, wife's name is included in the application and she's the secondary applicant.

Experts, please advice if Provident fund statement issued by my employer is acceptable for OINP / EE process. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the suggestions.

All my POF are fixed deposits. So, I have to break the bond before the maturity date (24th Nov 2016), credit that amount in a joint bank account of my wife and mine, then prepare a NOC from my wife and submit all the documents as POF?

I also have PF statements for 20% of the amount. 80% in Fixed deposits. Fixed deposits has my name on the bond as
Mrs. <My wife name>
W/o: <My name>

I am also the nominee of those fixed deposits.

Please confirm.

1. If your spouse is coming with you, you can count money you have together in a joint account.
2. You may be able to count money in an account under their name only, but you must prove you have access to the money.
3. If you are invited to apply, you must give written proof that you have this money.

Above statement is from CIC: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/become-candidate/eligibility/proof-funds.html

Some people in this forum are saying that we can use a "No Objection Certificate".
Can we use this NOC as proof of access to spouse's money?
Can anyone who have already got their passport request/landed/passed this ordeal please confirm?
