I was originally an international student from the United States. I were given student visas prior to December 2012, when the visa information sharing between Canada and the United States went into effect. And I entered the United States on a different visa ten years ago. If I am to apply for a study permit from Canada, would the Canadian government know about all of my previous immigration history in the United States, including the two visas that I were originally given. Please note I was never refused a US visa, or deported from the United States. So there is nothing negative in my U.S immigration history. Taking into account the fact I had a criminal record while on a student visa, I do not want the canadian government or embassy to know that I once held a student visa after the age of 18. I am concerned they would not approve my study permit application due to my US criminal convictions.
