Does Buffalo requests a new FBI Clearance Certificate for Appl pending long time

Hello,

I have a question for US Family Class applicants. Does anyone know if it is common for the Canadian consulate in Buffalo to request a new FBI Police certificate if an application is pending for more than 4 months?

Buffalo is currently processing our application, and I am worried that they might again request FBI police certificate if our application is pending for a while (4 months or more). I am worried that they could say that the original FBI certificate is old and they need to get a new one to make sure that the applicant record is clean.

Does anyone know if this is common?

Thank you very much.

I shouldn't be "too old" unless it was over 3 months old when you sent it in or over a year old when the processing is complete. Even after that one year, they may or may not need a new one.

Hi BeShoo,

Thank you very much. When CPC-M got the application, the FBI certificate was less than 3 months old. And Buffalo started working on the application with no issue.

I am just worried that after another 3 months, they might ask for a new FBI certificate, since the original certificate would be 9 months old by that time.

Thanks

Hi SCsquare,

Thanks a lot for the info. Congrats on the good news!!!

Question, did Buffalo tell you why it took more than 9 months to get the approval? Is it because of background/security checks?

Thanks

They took more than 9 months because they wanted to interview me regarding my relationship with my husband... I got the news abt the interview in March.. n the interview was schduled for July... so those 4 months was jst the waiting time for the interview date
