In order to apply for the job, does it require you to be a Canadian citizen? Is that why you have applied for urgent processing?andrew7007 said:I am on EI for 6 months now and my application has been transferred to local office. Being on EI shouldn't make a difference. I had written a letter and faxed it to them stating my EI status and a job offer in the middle east. Sent my itinerary and letter from Director of the middle east company. No reply as yet.
Being on E.I due to unemployment should absolutely not affect your case, travel abroad during the period you were receiving E.I would most probably lead to RQ !bigben3 said:Hi Guys,
I just want to know that being on E.I for a full year(until the use up of maximum benefits) affect my citizenship. I have been looking for jobs but didn't get any till 1 year. Please let me know whether I could go ahead and apply
If I am not mistaken, the new CIC rule released earlier this year requires "Intent to Reside". If you are trying to get Canadian Citizenship in order to leave and work in the middle east, then I fear you will get RQ'd or our application will get rejected. Especially if you already told CIC that you are intending to leave Canada!andrew7007 said:They wanted a Canadian for the position as it helps in procuring visit visas. Extensive travel related work. oilfield. I explained this to CIC. CIC official from Sydney assured me of urgent processing after I sent her the itinerary and the letter from Director. My file was transferred to local Edmonton office on 7th May. Now its stuck. The job seems to be slipping from my fingers. Frustrating.
