Does anyone used Airbnb temporary accommodation service in Canada?

Hi All,
I came across this website for temp accomodation, Its called Airbnb. Check out the link, if u cant open just google Airbnb. I would like to know whether someone used it? Any info about this will be of great help. Seniors plz suggest your ideas.. thanks

I had used once but no problem with the airBNB but the information provided by the property owners are not true. So in my case I am new at that time and had no other immediate options available, so I had to put up with that

Have you used their service recently or many years back? have you selected the place/ made a booking after reading the reviews ? For which country you have used it? I saw pretty good places there but as u said authencity is the issue.. So airbnb website has got no issues make an booking online and the website is legitimate for online payments? Is it correct? thanks

Hey,

I have used Airbnb many times when travelling, I have used it in NYC, Chicago, MT Tremblant to name but a few.
I have never had a bad experience with them, as long as you research the area and read the reviews you cant really go wrong!

Hi in addition to the original post:

I do not have concerns for the trust of the hosts, i'm concerned about immigration canada - will they accept the airbnb reservation as a legitimate proof of place of stay without an actual "host invitation letter". I assume payment receipt is proof of a contract held by airbnb reservation company.

Hi,

Just one question:

we are a vegetarian family and therefore need an furnished accommodation with cooking facility.

How do i check if cooking is permitted or not? Some service apartments have kitchenette that has microwave and coffee maker. Can i presume that a gas or electric stove will be there for sure.

Also, we are 2 Adults and 2 kids (5 & 8 ages). Do i search for accommodation for 4 guests or 2 guests.

Most of the accommodation in Airbnb has the kitchen facility, you can use their kitchen. Few days before I booked short accommodation with private bathroom and kitchen facility. It is basically a house, you will share with owner.

Never used it in Canada, but I've used it in other countries. Great experience, check the reviews. You can also look at booking or other similar websites. It's worth a try and saved me some money.

I feel like it's a crap shoot with AirBnb. I've had good experiences, but my sister has had a couple doozies.
