hi,

Need advise. I was recently diagnosed and treated for viral pneumonia, hospitalised for 8 days including 4 days in ICU. Does this affect the medicals adversely ? I am back to normal though.

Hi,

I am not a doctor, but I suspect, it may affect your X-ray. Pneumonia may have left some scars on your lungs. I guess it is not a reason for rejection, but you might have to undergo some additional tests.
I've heard that some people had their sputum analyzed to confirm they don't have tuberculosis because there were some noticeable issues on X-ray. These analyzes might be time-consuming (up to 3-4 month).

Thanks for your reply.
I understand that additional reports may be required to prove no issues. I just hope that they can look up at my follow up reports which are clear and shows nothing on x-rays and other reports. But if they need me to do them again, 3-4 months seems too long :(

I don't know if this time is the same everywhere. But I know a girl from Moscow, who did these tests and the second X-ray. It took 3 months, if I am not mistaken. The case is on hold during this time (obviously), because if medical is not good, the candidate is rejected immediately.
So just be prepared for the worst now rather than suddenly surprised later. I would also recommend to have all your medial papers connected to the treatment when you undergo medical exam.
Good luck!

Hi

Retain all the reports and x-rays that you have from diagnosis & treatment. In many cases the panel physician can make a positive decision if your reports are not older than 6 months.

p.s. But Keep in mind that referring you for furtherance is always CHC discretion.

Thank you guys for your valuable inputs. Appreciate :)

panel physicians are not authorised to make any decisions. They only do the exam and upload any and all medical tests that CIC requests from them.

In your case, you will most likely have the same exam as everyone else and then after it is uploaded to CIC, they will send the panel doctor instructions on what other exams you need to do (if any).
