Does a PR need to carry COPR original when travelling in and out of Canada?

Dear...COPR is needed (principally) for the first time and landing purposes only. COPR (original forms) are retained by IO and pushed for PRC (permanent residence card) process. PRC is generally received within 45 working days. Once acquired, immigrant needs to do in and out from canada with PRC only hence COPR is history.

In situation when one has to exit canada before PRC is received, there is a different procedure for re-entering Canada. Apart from that procedure, copy of COPR should be kept when entering Canada.

Let me add also the following:

You should keep your copy of COPR ( original goes to CIC as mentioned by asyousuf), which is the only proof with you as a landed immigrant, while going to any offices, till you get your PR Card. It is required while applying for the SIN and for opening bank account after getting SIN. Usually the COPR copy is stapled to your passport.

Thank you ! I am guessing that since you say that the copy of the COPR is attached to the passport(and mine isn't - they just handed us the paper and did not attach it) I should carry it when I travel.

Thanks again !

PMM already replied.
What I said is keep the copy of COPR, together with your passport, till you get the PR Card, for a proof that you are landed immigrant.
