Does a Minor need to submit pHyscial presence calculation?

HI,
I am unsure if a minor applying for citizenship also needs to submit the physical presence calculator? The application is being submitted along with that of the adults, who are submitting the calcualtions from the Physical presence Calculator. Please could anyone advise on that. Thanks.

No minors applying with a parent don’t have to. Check the application checklist for the requirements.

If the minor has fulfilled the RO (i.e. 1,095 days) but is not in Canada when the parent makes the application, is that allowed? The parent will be in Canada.

There is no requirement for the minor to be present inside the country while parent making the application.
As mentioned earlier, no minimum residency days for minors.

I don’t think it stops making the application but the minor would have to come in to take the oath and maintain the pr obligations until the oath.

I was going through the form CIT0003 (application for Canadian citizenship - Minors under 18 years of age under subsection 5(2)). The form seems quite straight forward. On question 8, it asks for the absence history if the minor has been out of Canada for more than 730 days in the last 4 years.

Does that mean the minor also needs to fulfill the 1095 days RO in order to qualify for citizenship? I was under the impression if the citizenship application is made by the Canadian PR parent who will be applying for his/her citizenship as well as for the minor's citizenship, the 1095 days RO only applies to the parent, not the minor.

Simply follow the instructions given. Dont overthink and compare with other application types.

You have to mention the travel history / absences for minors. This doesnt mean there is a requirement for 1095 days.

No, 1095 isn’t required but they want to know if the kid has been outside of Canada since landing for more than 730. I don’t know if this is tied to fulfilling pr obligations until oath. Furthermore, a child who’s 14yrs and over, and has spent over days or more outside Canada, would need to attach a pcc to their app (it’s on checklist).

I checked the checklist (CIT0008) and also the application form (CIT0003) and could not find anything on PCC for a minor. Perhaps your information is outdated, but if not, could you point me to which sections in either of the form or checklist where PCC is mentioned?

If you don’t see it at the bottom of the checklist for 5(2), then it’s outdated. It was on the one I used for my kids. Just follow what you have now on guide n checklist and u should be fine.

A child on TRP leading to PR has finished 3 years of living in Canada in total but out of that 15 months on TRP. Parents finish 3 years in total as PR at the same time. Can they file for the minor (leas than 4 years old) with them (keeping in view time on temp residency is calculated as 1/2)?
Any experience or insight is helpful. Thanks

I also have a question in CIT0003 Question 8 b) "Has the minor been outside of Canada for a total of 730 days or more in the past five (5) years or since becoming a permanent resident?"

I am not sure the logic of "or"? My kid just arrived Canada 9 month ago and officially got her PR (landed) at that time, but she has been outside of Canada more than 730 days in the past 5 years, should she check "yes" or "no"?
