Hi guys!
This week I will be flying to Vancouver and then onward to Toronto with my girlfriend who is a Canadian Citizen to visit her family. We have just lived a year in Australia.
I don't particular want to pay for my return ticket yet as I am unsure of the date I will be heading back to Aus. So my primary question is does a BUS ticket from Toronto to New York count as onward travel and would it be accepted by IO? I understand it would be up to the individual IO discretion but I was just wondering if anyone had any similar experience.
Obviously getting let in to the country is always a bit stressful but I am confident as I will have
1) Proof of sufficient funds
2)Proof of significant ties back to home country (I have a business in Australia)
3) Travel Insurance
4) Letter from girlfriend parents with address and stating that my stay is temporary
5) Bus ticket out of Canada
I have already contacted Westjet who I fly to Vancouver with and they said I won't get denied entry onto the plane and a bus ticket is fine. So that's good.
But yeah... any other thoughts?
ps: I haven't lived in Canada for about 12 months but when I left I had 1 year left on my work visa which ended in April this year. That won't be an issue would it?
Thanks in advance!!
