hi sir,
I am in a similar position as you were in. Me and my husband have our MBBS degree checked by ECFMG . Please guide me how did you proceed with the canadian medical council for the verification of your degree. Do u have to pay the money again for the certificates to canadian Medical council or ECFMG credentials will suffice. Please reply as the procedure is so costly. thank u!

I am from bangladesh. from where the mbbs degree has to be verified before sending to mcc? and do I need to send the transcript also?

Has recently any valued member of this forum registered for CIIP - Canada Immigrant Integration Program from Dhaka? It will be very kind of you if you please share how should this be done or any other info regarding this.

Your master degree will not give you any point.
Your MBBS degree gives you 23 points. Thats all.

I am a specialist physician too..and you guys recommend to get bachelor degree assessed instead of masters degree
so in case if i apply in NOC specialist physician 3111
will my bachelor ECA report will match with this NOC ????

Hi guys I have a name discrepancy between my legal name on passport and my name on my medical diploma and MC wanted an explanation for the discrepancy any advise on how to handle this FYI my birth certificate has my legal name same one like on my passport so should I submit this and would this be sufficient?

My University issued me a letter stating that there is a difference between legal name and the one on the diploma/academic records because of spelling error which can not be changed, and that they both belong to the same person. Your University should be able to issue you the same document. I got mine in 30 minutes.
Good luck

Is it feasible if in first time i send my MBBS certificate authorized and sealed from my medical college authority directly to mcc?
And all other identity document notarized and send separately?

Does this process save time to verify my degree ?

No you cannot send the notarized documents directly to MCC as they will not accept them. They just need the photocopies sent specifically as described in physiciansapply which they will forward to ECFMG. Medical Degree and Transcipts are then sent by ECFMG to the university and verified by the university only.

Hello Guys,

I am Muhammad Waseem Alvi from Lahore Pakistan. I am new here and want to get information. I have read mentioned below information and a little bit confused so I want to clear my confusion regarding this process.
I am going to apply for Canada Immigration and I am IT professional. I have verified my all documents from WES. But my wife is a doctor and she has a BDS(Bachelor of Dental Surgery) degree. I want to verify her degree for Immigration process. Please let me know where I need to send the documents and which documents need to be verify for immigration. Should we need to verify her Matric and Intermediate certificate as well or only need to verify her BDS degree? What is the fee for the verification report?

Please explain all the details here so that I can proceed this process.

Thanks.

Good afternoon Doctor,

Thank you for your communication dated May 05, 2014. Please note that the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) will produce an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) Report for your final Medical Degree only. We will not produce an ECA Report for any Medical Transcript or Specialty Certificate.

In order to request an ECA report, you will first need to create a Source Verification Request (SVR) for your Medical Degree. In order to create a Source Verification Request, you will need to click on

- “Source Verification Requests” in the left-hand menu of your physiciansapply.ca account

- Then select “Create a new SVR” or “Edit SVR in progress”

Once you have submitted your SVR, you may request the ECA Report by clicking on “Other service requests” in the left-hand menu of your account, and then on “Request Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) Report”.

Once you have submitted your SVR, and applied for the ECA report, you will be required to submit your documents to us either via regular post or courier to the following address:

Medical Council of Canada
2283 St Laurent Blvd., Suite 100
Ottawa ON K1G 5A2

After receiving your documents a communication will be sent to you, and your file will be reviewed by a Review Agent. Please note that at this time, as we are currently receiving a higher than normal number of documents, completions of the review process may take between four (4) to six (6) weeks.

After your documents have been reviewed by the MCC, they will be sent to the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) for Source Verification.

IMPORTANT: Confirmation by the issuing institution usually takes up to 100 days and sometimes longer. The length of time for confirmation can vary due to the amount of time some issuing institutions take to respond to the source verification request.

Once your document has successfully been Source Verified- Passed, the ECA Report is mailed within 21 business days. A paper copy of the ECA Report is mailed to the address provided at the time of the request.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require further information.

Regards,

Medical Council of Canada (MCC)
