hi.

I have sent my complete documents 2 days back by courier. I have tracked my consignment and it hasn't reached. My 120 days will finish on the 12th may and I am worried. Saturday and sunday the visa offices are closed and monday would be 11th of may. suppose the documents reach on the 11th or worse if it reaches there on the 12th would that be ok. .........
Does the 120 days mean delivery at the cic office or does it mean it should be in the immigration section.............

I beleive they specify 120 from the date of the letter... at least that's what my Medicals request letter said (60 days from the date of the letter). Good luck with your application.

Regards.

Based on what i hv read in this forum, yo u should not worry so long as you have sent the documents with in time limit. Some instances, visa officer may look at your file many weeks after receipt. Good luck.

Hi sushid0c;

What happened did they accept the documents on the last date or not?

Actually I am in also same situation, my 120 days will expire on 23/07/2009 and on the same date, i will get Ilets result, but I will forward my docs on the same day to CHC London, I do not know whether they will accept or close my file. Please advise with your experience

All, 120 days mean 120 days. What's wrong if on 120th day. Do do not need to worry at all. Thinkgs will be positive if everything is in order and acceptable. Best of luck :)

I believe by this time Sushild0c already knows what he got out of his efforts :)

I hope all went well with him and now waiting for his Visa.

Good luck Sushild0c.

Docs updates will be sent to them on 23/07/2009 which is 120th day but it will reach CHC London may be 2 to 3 days late, will they accept or close my file

As per my understanding, they will consider your documents within time but cannot be stated for sure.

Other members please comment...

If they will be on their way on 23/7/2009 then they will be considered within 120th days prescribed limit.....this is my opinion, lets other say something on this too.

Good luck.

I hope they will accept them as you posted the before the 120 days deadline. Praying for you.

CiC has issued operational guidelines to Visa Offices regarding the strict enforcement of the 120day deadline. In the guide, they were advised to enforce the deadline very strictly, and to review all files within two weeks of the 120day deadline. Applicants with no submissions/incomplete submissions as at the date of the review are to be refused as is, and should be notified of their case closure promptly. However any submissions made before the Visa office closes the file and notifies the applicant are to be accepted and processed.

In otherwords, depending on the efficiency of the visa office, an applicant may benefit from a grace period of up to ten days, if the visa office conducts a review say ten days after the 120day deadline. It is entirely upto the visa office to choose at which point within the two weeks to carry out a review of those applications. Applicants may also request for extensions, and each must be considered on its merits, and responded to promptly.

A pal was told by the Accra Visa office bout three weeks ago, that it had not commenced the closure of files, following the expiration of 120day notice, so practice and theory may infact be two different things.

I personally believe there is some weight in Oceana's statement. I can smell it based on the responses i got, but i think its three weeks instead of two weeks.

Anyway if such is the situation that CIC really are following these guidelines then at least most of the applicants should be receiving their evaluation result and may be a go signal for medical.

Anyway thanks for posting and sharing the information. i only hope its from reliable sources.
