Hello,

I needed to know something.

I know that all the documents that needs to be sent is to be sent in photocopies and no originals, but do these copies need to be notarized by a Notary Public or not?

Also, do the reference letter from the employer need to be sent in an original copy or a photocopy? and if there are any other documents that need to be sent in original.

ex: PCC - Police clearance certification
CELPIP result (language test result) or anything else?

Please advise.

Please refer to the document checklist, as it is explicit with regards to what needs to be an original versus what doesn't: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5610E.pdf

Some documents are originals, some aren't. You only need notarization for translated documents. Please read the application guide carefully.

Translation of documents

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified copy of the original document.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5609ETOC.asp

Any other copies are just photocopies.

Note: you also don't need to create a new topic for every question you have.

I won't be surprised if half of the rejections CIC did for CEC applicants is because they didn't read the forms and instructions carefully. I can understand if English is not someone's first language, but it doesn't seem to be your case. I would suggest you sit down at a quiet place and read through the pages and information for CEC before asking anything or getting yourself confused. These are all information clearly written on their checklist or instructions. You just need to focus when you are reading.

Thank you all for your invaluable comments and also for the links:

However, please read below (an extract from the document check list)

Police Certificates and Clearances
You are strongly encouraged to submit your police certificates with your application to the CIO. If you are unable to
obtain all the necessary police certificates, you may still send your application to the CIO without them. However, we
strongly recommend that you take steps to obtain your police certificates
now
to avoid future delays. You must be
ready to submit them when requested by an officer.

- I have submitted requests for my Police clearances and these will take a maximum of 3-4 weeks to come. As per the extract above, can I still send my application now (without my PCC) for the simple reason that I would like my PR processing to start ASAP and then once I receive my PCC I will send it at a later date.

I would prefer to do this as this will result in my application process to start ASAP (as the extract says that I could send the PCC at a later date)

Can I send my other documents for PR now and send the PCC later?

Any suggestions and am I thinking on the right lines?

Please advice.

Yes, you can send the PCC later once you receive your AOR.

Thank you Yahoo7.

The reason being, that waiting for another 3-4weeks for my PCC to come, will only delay the processing time of my PR application.

So, now, I will work on getting together all my documents so that I can send these out as soon as possible.

Thank you

Jake. .ur really making me laugh with us questions here...
Shells and Seton r absolutely right..
Hey do ur research , read the application form and checklist carefully.
ONLY THEN post queries here and pls post all together at once. Posting multiple queries on different threads is very confusing especially when u haven't even read the docs well.
Come on Jake...put ur mind into it. .
Help yourself before we help u :p
