Hi. Does anyone know if CIC is going to require any documents to claim pre-PR physical presence in Canada (i.e., on a study or work permit) other than self-claim in the online calculator? I remember that when I landed as an immigrant, the officer took my study permit and shredded it.

Your application does not have to be accompanied by any supporting documents that prove your physical presence in Canada, prior or after PR. Should you be asked to provide them at a later stage, CIC gives you the guidelines as to what should be provided. If you want to start gathering the supporting documents right away, here's a partial list: School transcripts, Pay stubs, utility bills, rental agreements, proof of rent payments, etc. Basically, anything that proves you were actually in Canada you claimed you were in application and physical presence calculator...

Did you not keep a copy of the study permit while you had it?
