Hello People,

Today I got a message in the Document status section with the following details after passport submission for Express entry PR.

Document Status
Name Unique Client Identifier (UCI) Document Document # Status Expiry Date Status Updated Date Travel document Number Country of Issue
xxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxxxx Counterfoil T123456789 Your document is valid. 2018/04/26 xxxxxxxx India

Final Decision: my application is updated to approved

Can you please let me know what exactly above statement means.

1.I have lot of confusion about the Expiry date which is 2018/04/26?
2. What is counterfoil document as i have never heard of this term in the CIC process?
3. How to proceed next after we recieve passport?
4. How to get upgraded to 5 years PR validity?

1. This is the expiry date of your PR visa. So, you need to land before that date.
2. It is your PR visa stamp.
3. You should land before the expiry date of the PR visa.
4. There is no such a thing as 5-year PR visa validity. You have to land before that date (which is 1 year from your medical exam). Otherwise, if you land one day after that, you will not be allowed to enter Canada without new medical exam.

Ok thanks much...so my PR card will have any validity further to stay as legally in canada?
