document proof of work experience

Dear All,

What are the documents that are required for showing Work Experience ???

Is it only the detailed employment letter from the Employer ?
or also the employment contract ?
or salary slips ?
or bank transaction proofs ?

I worked for 2 years as Freelancer Software Developer with a company in India where I did not have a formal contract, but used to get money based on the tasks completed. Can a letter from the company confirming this freelancer work and the salary received will be enough ?

Normally experience certificate is desirable. In absence of that, appointment letters can suffice the purpose.

What is an experience certificate? The Buffalo office says something about a "notarized employment contract". I've never signed an employment contract. Is this necessary? Or do you think a letter will suffice? Thanks!
