document for name change---to be submitted after ITA

Hi,

what document will be required other than marriage certificate to be shown for name change after marriage??

- an affidavit from notary stating the old and new name are of the same person??
- or a gazetted declaration from Govt of India??

my name is also different in different documents due to wel educated government officers silly typing and neglecting mistakes...

its vipulkumar in some and vipul in others. so, in this case, do i need notary affidavit or gazetted declaration??


please advise me on this topic.

For name change after marriage submit Affidavit for Name Change after Marriage.

For variations in name submit Affidavit for Same and One Person.

Not sure, you can consult a lawyer for the same, they can guide you.

Notary is sufficient but make sure it is stamped with valid inside and outside India i use the same having no issues at all already sent my passports for copr

my case is i think slightly different. mine was an inter-cast marriage.so,

after marriage my wife's middle name and surname has changed. she didn't have passport in her old name. so, her passport is having new name.

and i have changed her name in aadhaar, ration card and bank account, but not in election card{takes a lot of time and its cumbersome}.

in this case, what should i show as a proof of name change?? since her surname is also changed, notary affidavit will suffice or not??

please help me in this regard..

Get affidavit for safe side. Just like my name is Tanzeel Ahmed but in transcripts my name is mentioned Tanzeel Ahmad. Its called inconsistency in spellings which I got addressed through Affidavit.
