I was reading Part A forms required page 1. This must be from the old checklist as you stated. I got the new checklist.
So whenever I come to a section that says common law for example,
Common Law partner (including dependent children) IMM 5589. This is from the old check list. Do I need to check this even though i am legally married?

Use the new checklist. They will reject your application if you use the old form. The forms change every few months.
