Is it ok to put sticker notes on the documents in order to organize them better for the officer to follow the check list?

If you think you have too many documents, then you could put post it notes on the top of each pile. number it and add table of contents on top of the pile. There is not wrong way. You can be meticulous.

Now that you have mentioned it, I'll probably to the same thing.

Good luck with your application :)

This won't help. What IRCC want is the documents checklist at the front and everything else, in order, behind the checklist. you can use a paperclip to keep everything together.

@jsm0085 That is correct. Keep the document checklist in the front.

You don't need to re-invent the wheel, guys. All IRCC want is for you to follow the instructions and provide what is requested in the manner they are requesting it. Do this, and you'll be fine. Any additions frankly will just cause annoyance or confusion.

We printed headers, like;

Biographical pages of abc
Stapled passport copies of the person.

Page with header : "Language Proof of abc"
Degree/diploma/transcripts (whatever is available) attached. Stapled my transcripts envelope with header infront.

I followed checklist and held them together with a large clip. Had family package so it helps to separate the applications, so that's documents don't mix, and makes it easy for the officer. It's a personal preference. Sticky notes should work too.

the checklist serves the purpose of table of contents. the staff is knowledgeable and experienced enough to tie your degree certificate to language of proof, etc. thats what they are doing day in and day out, so they would know most of the types of documents people send. dont sweat too much over labeling.

i put the payment receipt in front and then tied two u-pins for 2 application dockets. in both dockets, checklist was in the front. no labels.

If you think you have time to add stickers or cover pages to your application, you should use that time instead to read your application again and make sure you didn't make mistakes.

Your application won't be refused because it did or didn't have stickers. Your application will be refused because you made an unlucky typo.

Do not staple. you can use rubber bands or james clip.

I remember when I went for my student visa in 1999 New Delhi, I had mountains of paperwork - clipped nicely etc only to find they remove everything and reinsert in their own folder. They want it all uniform so I always saw this extra hard work was wasted
