doctor physician student

im a resident doctor in pathology...which means i dont have my pathology degree yet so i cant say im a specialist physician
but as a resident doctor i havent worked as a general practitioner !
so i have to say that my current ocupation is a general practitioner but my work experience is in a different major which leads to them closing my express entry profile having me to start again

what should i do in this situation ?

You aren’t any form of physician until you finish a residency because you also wouldn’t be licensed to practice as a GP either unless in your country it is different.

Would add that if you are so far into your residency it probably makes sense to finish in your home country. If you don’t get a spot in Canada then you are left with no licensing in either countries. On a positive note you have a better chance compared to other IMGs of getting licensed in Canada because most Canadians medical students don’t want to be pathologists so there are residency spots leftover. Where did you go to medical school and do your residency?

Unsure. Maybe a specialist doctor will be ok. Technically training associated with a degree is not counted.

Not really if you are in a pathology residency program you may be working in various areas at the beginning of your residency but not usually full-time as a GP.

well there is no category for resident doctor...and the closest thing to it is general practitioner so i have to go with it...most of my duties are general anyways...

Is that the employment period you are using to apply? Your employment will be as a pathology resident and not as a GP which is my other concern.

Thanks for looking this up I should have done that myself. Given this NOC you should certainly be using NOC3111.
