Hello friends, I did my MBBS, all USMLE steps and I am almost done with medical residency (june) in New York. In july I will be starting my fellowship. Now my question is, in the initial application form what do I put my level of education as? bachelors, master, or phd? how many years of education do I consider myself if my mbbs was 5 years and one year internship after that + almost 3 years of residency? you help would be highly appreciated. thank you!

ur MBBS 5 yrs+1 yr internship+ 3 yrs residency(if u want to apply now mention it as 2 yrs+ no. of months)

Regarding ur query for MBBS+1 yr internship, u will get a maximum of 22 points.

Concerning ur residency I am afraid that u will get zero as work experience (cuz it is part of ur thesis work in masters) , and it will be counted as master degree after completion, so u will get a total of 25 marks for the whole education.

U have to to do one year paid job ( full time) to be eligible to apply for PR under FSW. Kindly give a go at cic.gc.ca. It will help.

Typically a M.B.B.S degree will award you 20 points.

You will get cerdit for 3 years of residency ( Paid ).

Thank you for your replies and attempt to help. I appreciate it.

My residency in New York is paid and full time and on H1. What is am confused about is that some of you mentioned that I do not qualify as federal skilled worker. if that is the case then I do not qualify in any other category. How can that be?

If I send in my application to Central intake office with the information i know, will they help me out? if there is any mistake will they help me correct? Thanks
