Thank you Dr. Mrinal for interest in this forum. Actually we all are in same field. waiting waiting and waiting. Some people waiting since January 2010, I am from June. So don't loose your hope. Ball in CHC Singapore court now. We have nothing to do now except be patience. By the by did you apply self or through consulting farm?

My wife is a doctor and I would like to apply for immigration with her as the principal applicant.

I have two questions:

• She has already given her IELTS for some other exam. It is the IELTS Academic and I read that for immigration you have to give IELTS GEenral. Is it possible to use the academic test result for immigration purposes or does she have to appear in IELTS general?
• Do you have to complete the MCCQE in order to be eligible for immigration?

yes she can submit her academic, she dont have to do MCCQE immdiately, she may do that after or during processing of your immigration papers.

doc n have been in my field of OPHTHAMOLOGY
since 20 years .Currently I am working
in UAE as a consultant and head of Ophthal spry,as well.
I lodged my application to CIO NS on 26th of May 2010.
So far I couldn't get any response. Do you think

Academic IELTS is not valid for canada immigration. U must sit for GT. dont waste your time;Book for GT IELTS ASAP

doctor sab i submited accademic IELTS with my application now my application is at final stage.i have also general ielts but i submit only accademic and they didnot ask me about general ielts
so dont worry about it and submit both of them

You can take the risk of submitting your academic ielts,and hoping that they would consider it, but if you want peace of mind that CIC will indeed process your papers right away, there is no harm submitting the General IELTS which is explicitly mentioned in the CIC website. ;D
