I've been applying to several restaurants across Canada. Some seem not to mind my lack of work experience, but there are others who keep on saying that my work permit is likely to be rejected because I don't have 2 years experience in fast food. Again, I'm very young and spent a lot of my post-high school years in college, so I don't really have that much work experience in anything. Am I really going to be denied a work permit because of no experience especially when the job advertisement says that no experience is required. It's freaking fast food for crying out loud. I really hope that some of these employers are wrong about what they're saying. If they're right, then that would men that my other committed employers (who are definitely planning to hire me when their LMO comes) are probably wasting their LMO without knowing it. What's the deal here? Is experience really needed?

Are you already in Canada? I am from the Philippines and been having positive responses from employers through email. Some of them were actually impressed with my resume. I only have 9 months experience with Starbucks and that was 2 years ago but I also have years of experience in the field of customer service and sales to back it up.stopDA said:

i am in canada... i applied a job here in Canada thru the website of Jobbank.com, so it is direct hire. I dont have experience in the job i am applying here and my visa is approved. We are a total of 10 applicant at that time, 9 of us is approved and 1 is denied. Me and those that got visa are currently working while we apply a Visa the 1 which got refusal is currently not employed for 3 years ( he is an ex-taiwan, i am ex-saudi ).
Same case in my friend i refer to 3 of my friend in an employer in Alberta under direct hire and they don't have experience in the job offer. Two of them received a visa and they are currently working in the Philippines and one is refused which is not currently working.

i am asking this because i want to know for myself: are you working with just the temporary residence visa while waiting for the working visa to be issued? do the employer in canada do this?chief0422 said:
