there is no minimum income requirement for sponsoring your spouse with no dependent child. you can provide details of your job just to show your ability to support your spouse. send one letter explaining your situation :)

My other half was worried about this as she was in the UK with me for 2 years before returning home to Canada and getting a job and we wanted to apply as soon as possible, she called the Visa office and they suggested as she had only been working a short time for her new employer she should get a letter from her employer stating how she was employed ie full/part time with a perminant postion within their company, we did this and added it to our application :)

then you should be good - my partner has been approved to sponsor me although he has been a student for the last 3 years (outside of Canada) and only worked 5 months in total during his studies (summer job). He added information on how he plans to settle in Canada and make a living, and he was approved without problems.
Good luck,
Sweden

I have been in Canada for 4 days when I sent the application, had no work yet that time, and I haven't been working for the past few months before I arrived here.
Got approved as sponsor, no problem. ;D
