Do you need a study visa for online courses?

I'm thinking to upgrade my Math 12 grade.

bconlineschool requires me to have a study visa to take their course.

When I looked at CIC website, it seems like I don't need one if it's online course?

The course I'm trying to take is part-time and it comes with credits.

I applied PR and Work permit through common-law before my study visa expired.

My study visa expired, and I'm just waiting for my work permit.
