Because he/she is the one who represents you in Ottawa, and if you become Canadian citizen you'll have to vote for one at the federal elections
 
We should have a list for all provincial information and keep it updated for all people getting their exams :P :P :P
 
Thought I would share this here - the style of question the OP has posted is lifted straight from the Canadian Citizenship Study Guide. It is a shame the guide is confusing.

The representative you are looking for is the MLA, you can search for your MLA by navigating to the Legislative Assembly website.
