COPR document shows marital status which can be a risk to show in the home country in case of interfaith and samesex marriages not registered in home country. Can someone share the process on airports in countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan? Did you have to show COPR in addition to the PR Visa on your passport?

The airline will need to verify that you have a travel document which allows you to board the plane and travel to Canada. So yes, they need to check that you have a document that allows you to travel. I don't think they will look at the details. Just whether the COPR is valid.

I mean COPR in addition to PR Visa on the passport.

During covid times, visa/COPR holders must show immediate family member in Canada to travel, so yes, you may need to show the copr and possibly other documents. I can't say for sure in non-covid times, generally the visa would be enough.

Note: this is to the airline and is required of the airlines to check.

If you needed to, you could travel to another country and on from there.

Oh I didn't think this was an option. And that you could only depart from country of domicile/residence.

No, there's no restriction of any kind in that regard. Note of course with covid travel restrictions this is all subject to some change (incl the current no direct flights from India and Pakistan), but I don't think there's ever been a requirement to come direct from home country.
