My high school teachers always taught me to add a 'subject line' for all formal letters. Is it the same format for ielts-letters?
----------------------------------------------
Question:
On a recent holiday, you lost a valuable item. Write a letter to the manager of your insurance company, including the following:
+describe the item you lost
+explain how you lost it
+tell the insurance company what you would like them to do
Begin your letter with: Dear Sir/Madam,
==============================
My answer for the above question would begin like this:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Subject: Request for reimbursing the cost of lost item- Policy number: PYJ 7968969900001
During my recent trip to ....
.
.
.
==============================
Is adding the Subject line right or wrong? What did your IELTS trainers say? Please help. My exam is on Aug 2 2014.
