Do work exp needs relevant academic qualification?

Friends,

A cousin of mine has come back to India after staying for around 5 years in UK, where he studied PG in management and then worked in a pharmacy as an assistant pharmasist for more than 2 years full time and for more than 2 years part time. But he is not a pharmacist by qualification. Before going to UK he did bachelor of science in chemistry and in UK, pg dip in management.

Please let me know what are the chances if he applies for Canada PR as a retail pharmacist...
 
Nope academic qualifications need not match the work exp as long as the person qualifies for the job and has a strong employer reference :)

there are educational requirements for all NOCs. .
like CA, ACCA, MBA finance for Financial managers

same like all others category so relevance does matter.

He should apply.CIO will check his eligibility & If he got his first AOR(within 2-3 months of apply) then his qualification is accepted.If CIO finds his qualification inappropriate then Instead of sending him AOR they will send his application back to him with refund.
N.B: Dont forget he must provide evidence that he has atleast 1 year full time paid work exp as a pharmacist.
 
hi pgt...first of all in the listed category pharmacist is there not the assistant pharmacist and one more thing only pharmacy graduation eligible for pharmacist. so ur frnd is not eligible and also under canada rules any country pharmacy graduate with pharmacist experience can apply but after landing in Canada, need to apply and to be qualified there pharmacist exam

My perception goes with the fact that qualification relevance is not essential. We have asked agents here and we have recieved divided opinions. We dont know what to do, shall we ask cohen about it? Will they reply?

U surely can ask him but U need to pay him to get his reply....
 
experience must be reflected by relevant education. For Singapore office, this is true for 50% or more cases.
 
I agree with Jnathan..its hard to prove you are skilled in some professions if you dont have relevant education/training. for example you cant be a MBA and claim to be a Doctor. so pharmacy i think falls in the same field . however there are many occupations which can be provd irrespective of the education you had. for example. resuturant managers, plumbers etc. on job training gets you the required skills. this is just what i think. others can agree or disagree.
