Do we receive citizenship certificate in same package as passport ?

Hi All,
I applied for Canada Passport and sent the original citizen cert along with it.
I got the passport today but did not get the original cert back.

My friends (who applied before me) told me that we get both passport and original cert back in same package - but i did not.

Should i be worried and contact IRCC immediately or wait for some more time.

Has anyone got passport and cert separately ? Please advise.

Yes they are usually separate, although some are sent together. Do not worry. You can try to call to get the tracking number for your certificate, but good chance you will get it within the week.

For what it’s worth, I sent my package to Gatineau and I received my certificate back from BC and my passport came from Mississauga. I live in the GTA.
