Do we need to be in canada to get the citizenship certificate?

Make sure you see updated address before oath. if you dont have oath yet then wait for 2-3 weeks.
Call them and update the address and it should reflect quickly as online sometimes takes time(i think as per few posts).

Thanks Mahoon , I cant imagine I can reach IRCC from outside Canada? Can I ?

Even when we were in Canada we tried over and over to change address by talking to them with no success.

I hope putting two address change requests within 40 days wont confuse them as In the second request I put a different ”effective day” as I didnt want to put in a date in the past, so i simply put tomorrow’s date.

At the time of the oath, ask the officer handling your case to confirm the address on file. If it is not, give them at that time the address to which you want the certificate sent. If you wish to be double-sure, include an appropriate note with the documents you mail in after the oath.

Thanks Jakke for your reply. So from what you are saying it is ok to update address during oath itself! have you done that?
