Do UK citizens need to submit passport for COPR?

I just received my PPR on Friday (hooray!) I'm a US citizen, so I know that I do not need to submit my passport for my COPR letter. My husband however is a British citizen - does he need to send in his passport? I know that UK citizens don't need a visa in their passport to enter Canada, but he does need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA).

Hi, my wife is a British citizen and she got her PPR on Thursday. Can you please advise if you were successful in getting the COPR for your husband? We are confused as we don't know where to upload the documents on CIC. Thanks
