This question is eating at my head

In the Immigrants Guide for the Middle East, it states under Identity and Civil Status Documents,

Provide the following:

birth certificates
baptismal certificates, or
other official documents confirming relationship to you and each of your family members (including all pages of Household registries, except CIS residents).

My questions:

1) Do I (the sponsor) also need to provide my birth certificate? I'm a Canadian citizen (not born there) and will be sending my passport copy and citizenship certificate with our application.
2) What is a household registry??
3) Page 2 asks to provide notarized photocopies of all other documents, unless instructed otherwise.

I don't mean to be splitting hairs, but does that mean: notarize the original, then take a photocopy, or take a photocopy of the original, and notarize the copy? Does a document need to be certified as a true original before it can be notarized? All our documents are in English.

4) What does it mean, Retyped copies are not acceptable. ?

I'm stuck on the same issue. We're applying outland for my American husband.

Our guide states the same thing: "Provide birth certificates, baptismal certificates, national identity card..., or other official document confirming relationship".

I want to assume that we need to provide a birth certificate for our child because it confirms our relationship. Not sure how mine or my husband's birth certificate confirms relationship. The wording is so unclear.

I really need to know the answer for sure though. Both of our birth certificates are NOT in English, so we would have to get them translated and certified and that would be a big PITA at this point.

Hopefully, someone can answer this. Otherwise, back to searching for answers on other threads.

Now that I read it a few more times, there's "OR", so maybe just marriage certificate will be enough, as that is what confirms relationship. In our situation, also our child's birth certificate because it lists us as parents (confirmation of relationship).

So maybe I'll be able to dodge translating our birth certificates, after all.

Still looking for more answers :)

For us our birth certificates don't need translating, but I assume they need notarizing.

The first 3 (birth cert, bapt cert or other official documents) I've concluded refer to my wife (we have no kids, so nothing to show relation to family members), and the next section refers to me (Canadian citizen), because it says, for any family members who are Canadian citizens provide .... and I'll be sending a photocopy of my citizenship certificate.

what did you end up doing?

i'm also not sure if both birth certificate and baptismal certificate are needed for the sponsored person
