I've 7 in IELTS with no band less than 6.5 and I've paid a GIC of 10000 cad but I've only paid first semester tuition fee. I've opted for an education loan and my bank won't disburse second semester fee until I show them proof of visa. I know I can apply through non SDS but my confusion is that does SDS catagory get preference or do they have higher chance of acceptance than non SDS category besides time taken. And I've a sanction letter from my bank mentioning that they will immediately release second semester fee after getting visa. Do I too have to show some extra funds or that sanction letter from the bank is enough

In SDS application, less financial documents are required: 1st year fees paid in full and a GIC deposit of CAD$10K are the only financial documents you need to show.

As for approval, based from different applicants in this forum, I’d say about the same. Applicants from both streams have rejections and approvals. Timelines are also not definitive. Some regular applications are processed faster than SDS and vice versa.
