Dear All - I have got most of my documents ready for the Application but do not have the Birth Certificates for me and wife.

We never had it all life long and now it is required to be sent with the package.

Is their any alternative to birth certificates, which could be sent ?

I have tried calling the CEC call center number several time without any success to reach them.

Your guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks

Where were you born? India?

If that is the case then you can go to lawyer and get an affidavit done for your birth certificate. Would you be able to get one done from your country of origin?

Seniors, please guide on this one.

Yes, another option is to apply with your class 10th certificate or marksheet with a cover letter. I have seen several post in this forum where ppl have applied with their marksheets and their applications were accepted. Please search a bit more on this forum, you will get your answer.

I was in similar situation, I submitted

- 10th mark sheet which have dob along with parents name
- certificate of birth from Indian embassy
- An affidavit signed by notary ottawa

attached a covering letter explaining why I don't have, my application accepted.
Hope this helps

I second Smarty_1982 opinion..

I did the same, in fact you don't need to have "certificate of birth from Indian embassy", because CIC don't consider embassy certificate for this. Only 10th mark sheet and an affidavit would be enough

Thanks.

Thanks a lot guys, I will send
- 10th mark sheet which have dob along with parents name
- An affidavit signed by notary ottawa
